Hello, my name is Heather Truax. I am desperately trying to figure out if there is any other way to find out information about birth parents besides through the convent or if there is any information on a new contact at the convent that could provide some assistance. My mother was born there on February 19, 1960 and was named Pauline Mary Brown. Supposedly her birth mother's name was Kathleen Brown. Here's where it gets interesting. The nuns contacted a family that had adopted from the orphanage before to see if they would be interested in a little girl, when in fact, my adoptive grandparents had not contacted them for anymore children. On top of that, when my mother was brought over to the States she had a Ruby Murray record and a doll. From all other accounts we have not heard of other children bringing over records with them to their new homes. The nuns and priest proceeded to tell my grandparents over and over to not be surprised in my mother was musical and that her mother loved her very very much. My mother is extremely musical naturally since a young age, which makes us think it was a natural trait she got from her biological mother. When my mother went to contact Sacred Heart and spoke to Sister Sarto she was very rude to us and not helpful at all. She would not provide any information other than that my mother's biological mother was dead. She would not tell us where to look, where the biological mother was born, nothing. We even went to the convent and met with Sister Sarto and she proceeded to say nothing to us without directly reading it from letters that her and my mother had corresponded between. Please help us! If anything it would be nice to gain some new information. Thank you and please contact me if you have any information or know of anyone else that I could contact. Thank you!!!

Heather
