This is what I did...I already had MY birth cert so I had my information. I worked backwards & then went to my Mum's birth Cert and had someone get me copies... Getting copies can run into money, but it was well worth it. I made copies and also scanned everything so I'd have backups.

Do you already have your paperwork? I was blessed with adoptive parents that did NOT feel threatened & we openly discussed things from time to time. I do realize that not everyone is so lucky. I have all of my court papers etc. and even some letters that I received that my adoptive Mom had written to the sisters after I was adopted. So I really am blessed to be able to have everything I have and I shared with my adoptive Mom all that I found and she went back to England and Ireland with me and my husband so I could introduce her to everyone I located. My adoptive Dad passed away a couple of years before things had fallen into place.
