Thanks Chris, and no need for apologies. My friend was very tempted to order the B.C., but as you rightly said there isn't enough evidence.
The only thing i found strange is that when i looked for any other info on Sara Jayne McLeish {the one on the birth record ) there isn't any, no marriage or death.

My friends mother was born 12 Aug 1968 in Kings Lynne and adopted by the Fergusson's in June 69, we figured that as Sara was almost a year old when they adopted her that maybe they wouldn't have changed her christian names ?
The adopted went through the juvenille courts in Metwold Norfolk, i've googled the court but it doesn't appear to be there any longer. Would any other court in the area have information do you think ?
