His mother's name was June Porter born in 1933? to Frederick William Porter. She married Arnold Cresswell in Nottingham on 2 February 1950. Upon divorce in possibly mid 1950's she was resident in Paddock Yard, South Creake, Norfolk and used the surname of Atherton.
