You should be entitled to copies of any records held on you relating to your time at Aldersbrook. At the time in question, the home was run by East Ham council but, following local government reorganisation, the relevant local authority is the London Borough of Newham. You might try just asking the Children's Services department there, but the odds are you will either get no response or an unsatisfactory one so my advice would be to go straight to a subject access request under the Data Protection Act as this obliges the council to deal with your request in a timely manner (though it does involve a £10 admin fee).
