I haven't actually seen the birth cert just traced it on here, but there are two of them with SKIDMORE as the mothers maiden name. I was surprised because of how my gramps was with my gran that she put SMITH AND SKIDMORE on the birth cert, didn't know what they had to do in the 40's.

As to talking to the person who found out she was dead the woman concerned is not a nice person and my dad died 4 yrs ago aged 59 he knew he had a sister but didn't know any more than that which was quite sad as he said he always wanted one, so perhaps they have now met up there.
