Looking for my mother's birth mother's (Anna Nelson, born about 1896) family: ancestors and/or descendants. My mother was born Anna Marguerite Nelson Dec. 24, 1917 Aberdeen, Brown Cty, South Dakota to Anna Nelson, age 21. Father unknown. My mother was placed in January?1919 in North Dakota Children's Home Society in Fargo, ND, and adopted by John and Josephine Shay April 11, 1919 and raised in Stutsman/Kidder county, in North Dakota,and specifically Pettibone until about 1934 when they moved to Minnesota. Her adopted name became Berlette Roselia Shay, and she married Gilbert Sanden in 1936 and had two daughters.
