How would one find out if their child was "sold" as a black-market baby instead of being adopted out? I have been searching for so long with no results and this would be a horrible realization. Would it mean there are absolutely no records to be found? I feel so stupid! I was told there was a "doctor-lawyer" plan and that the lawyer found a couple who wanted a child and could not have one and the doctor "found" me....a young girl in trouble. What if my child was actually sold and was never told they were adopted? I always thought my child was a girl, but recently someone who was involved with the adoption said that it was a boy...... I am so confused. It was back in 1966 and things were so different back then. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
