My father, along with his brother and sister, were dropped off at the Albertinum by their mother (father disappeared). She had a breakdown, was put into the Napa State Hospital and had no visitors for 30 years until the night before she died.

My father had many many stories of the Albertinum. You must remember that he was born in 1921, so was there during the twenties. Their first egg on the day of First Communion. The Sisters were from an Order of German descent; they used to whip them with a rod. Also, they were made to wear "skirts" while bathing, as even seeing one's own body was considered sinful.
