I am desperately searching for the birth father of my Grandpa. The name on his original birth certificate said "Baby Boy Coltonbauch" born 22 Jan 1918 in Arlington, California to a woman named Myrtle Matilda Portis. He was given up for adoption immediately, most likely planned. He was born in a private hospital, while her other children were born in county hospitals. I believe this surname Coltonbauch is a misspelling by Myrtle, assuming she spelt it the way it sounded. It could have been Koltenbach or any other similar spellings. I do not know if Myrtle went through an agency. I do know quite a lot about her though. She was between marriages when she had my Grandpa and married her second husband the same year. My Grandpa's adopted name was Lester L. Kinzie.
I am searching for ANY leads including living relatives of Myrtle's, anyone that thinks this surname sounds familiar. I apologize for this is a sensitive subject as I believe that the birth father might have been married. Myrtle last went by Myrtle Kallas and died in 1974 in Placer, California.
I just want to find my family!
