Valerie, you have done a good research job in the short time since you learned of your adoption.

Within the past year, I have heard that the hospital in which you were born has closed. I learned its name from a query you had posted at eboards4all.com. I suggest that you try to find out what happened to its records (both admission and medical), even though it's unlikely that they did not discard old records.

If your present physician doesn't know where the records went, you can inquire of the state health department in Albany or a relevant agency in New York City. If necessary, try the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, which is located in Manhattan.

I have previously advised adoptees to have their present physician request records from a hospital. He should offer to pay the cost of reproduction of records. If he receives the records in the name of GEOFFREY, will he remember which of his patients wanted those records?

More details about hospital records can be found on page 33 of volume 1 of The Reg Niles Searchbook for Adult Adoptees, published in 2013. WorldCat has a list of libraries that have purchased this expensive book.

Page 34 describes the case of an adoptee who discovered his baptism record in the chapel of a hospital. You should be interested in baptismal records. Sometimes a church will issue a baptism paper which does not contain all the information in the archive.

Let me wish you good luck in your search. Any adoptee with experience in hospital research can add her advice below my message.

Reg Niles
RegNMINiles#cs.com
(to send e-mail, change pound sign to at sign)

I was helping my Fiancée Tim look for his Dad's family. His dad and twin were adopted. Their birthday is Nov 24, 1958. I have been searching around for info on their adoption or the last name. He isn't sure where in Indiana but his family won't talk much about it. They have said it was a hospital and they had tags on there arms labeled "Master A" and "Master B" I think. But they don't know what it means. Do you have information on what their original last name could be?

I am looking for any information on my biological father. His biological name would be SUMMERS. He was born
Sept.16,1950 in Chicago Illinois. I heard that he was the youngest of 7 children. He was left at the hospital due to medical complications that the parents could not afford. He was taken by a couple for a short while, but the mother died of cancer. So Richard was returned to his biological family for a short time . Then was taken for adoption. He was adopted at the age of 6 years old by the Heersma family.
He had blonde hair and blue eyes as a young child.
I am looking for his birth family for any medical history that they have. I am also looking for any Ancestral information as well. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
Melissa

Jonathan, you have a sister who is 22 and would love to meet you. She has been trying to find you.
You were born about 1988, she believes March 19th is your date of birth and you would be 25 years old today or so. She says her mother was about 16 when you were born and the adoption went through Catholic Services in Cincinnati. Part of the agreement was you would keep your first and middle name, Jonathan Michael.
Grandparents were Catholic and took care of the adoption.
Birth mother would like to meet you also. She does not know the name of the birth father. please contact me @ cyndisteinberger@hotmail.com if you would. Thank you.
I sent you a personal email. I have a friend searching for her birth parents.

She was born at Hermann hospital in Houston, Texas on 3-14-1965. She ended up with two birth certificates. The other DOB was 3-17-1965. Both were destroyed in Katrina. However, when she sent for a new one, they sent her the 3-14-1965 birth certificate. She believes birth mom's last name is Fields.

Any help is appreciated!!

Birth Father

Hello,

My name is Brian Louis Fedder, my ADOPTED name. I was adopted at birth and here’s the only information I have.

1.	I was born October 1, 1968

2.	The adoption agency was Maryland Children’s Aid Society, Inc. in Westminster County. Mrs. Mattare and Miss Francis Mansfield handled my paperwork and adoption.

3.	The Degree of Adoption was from Circuit Court #2 in Baltimore City, Md

4.	My birth certificate states the hospital I was born in Hagerstown, Md. And the name of the hospital wasn’t listed.

6.	I’m White and my faith is Hebrew.

7. The Fedder Tree on Ancestry is the ancestor’s of my adopted parents.

State of Maryland has found my mother and I’m still in the process of reaching her. She lived in Alaska during the great flood, with my step-father and they had 2 sons and a daughter. All of them returned to Virginia. I’m the result of my birth mother having an affair with my birth father. I don’t believe my birth father ever knew about me. Since my DNA is retrieving hits I’m hoping to find anyone in my birth family.

If you can be any help for me finding my blood family I would be forever grateful. My 4-yr old son has autism and I need medical information. Thank you and God Bless – Brian

Hi!
I'm looking for any information on Betty Ann Hoy. My grandmother recently passed away and in sorting out her estate we discovered the court records pertaining to my Mother's adoption. We always knew my mom was adopted but we never knew her biological mother's name. My mom was born on 4/22/50 and adopted from The Cradle adoption agency in Illinois. According to the court papers her only surviving parent was Betty Ann Hoy. The only other information I have is the fact that music was very important to her. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to know where I came from. It feels like a huge part of my history is missing. I'm hoping that perhaps you can help me find it :)

ISO Biological Family (Child -Son-Born August 1950 Atlanta)

I am looking for the names of a Fulton County family that matches the following description: The family consisted of the father, mother, & three daughters. Father was 52 in August 1950 (birth year est. 1897/1898), Mother was 48 (birth year est. 1901/1902), oldest Daughter was 23 (est. birth year 1926/1927) & was married as well by August 1950 & may have still been living her parents; middle Daughter was 21 (est. birth year 1928/1929); youngest Daughter was 15 (est. birth year 1934/1935). They came to Atlanta, or a nearby city, in between 1936-1937 when he transferred from a lumber company where he worked in the sawmill in another state to learn how to operate a power machine that trimmed telephone poles. His wife had been a stenographer at the lumber company which is where/how they met in the unknown city & state they moved here from. The oldest daughter worked as a stenographer with a car company (completed high school & a business course); middle worked in the same field but with a retail credit corporation (completed high school); youngest may have completed tenth grade in the spring/summer of 1950 but transferred to another school for her junior year (& may have dropped-out & gotten a job during her junior year; she would be Dad's biological mother). The father was six feet two & weighed 175-180 pounds; mother was five foot three & weighed 185; youngest daughter was five foot six, weighed 170 pounds, brown hair with bluish-green eyes & long eye lashes, she also enjoyed singing & sometimes participated in her school music programs. The father had two brothers one a minister & the other a farmer, & four sisters one who owned an "apartment house"; one who did clerical work; one married but did not work; & one who worked in a college. The mother had an unknown amount of sisters. Her older sisters did not complete high school but the younger ones did; one of these sisters worked in an office. While I realize I am quite possibly looking for a needle in a pile of needles stranger things have happened in genealogy & I greatly appreciate any help that is offered for this is a lost family of mine that I would LOVE to find!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!
Lena
Have you found the birthfamily your friend is searching for? I am an adoption search volunteer as well as a reunited adoptee. I enjoy giving back to a world that was good to me. If it had not been for the kindness of many volunteer adoption searchers, I might still be looking for my own birthfamily.

I have a list of all females born in Monterey County CA on 9/21/1949 (a total of 10). However, none of them have any of the 3 names you have in your post. If you will send me an e-mail to scrappingranna@bellsouth.net, I will send it to you immediately. I have found documentation on some of them into aduldhood. (Meaning, their surname wasn't changed during infancy/childhood as it would have been via adoption.) Of course, one of these is also your friend. Hopefully this list will narrow your friend's search greatly.
