My name is Lillie(Wallace)Neal.I am looking for any imfo on my gr-grandfather Charles Cook-he was adopted by the Cook family in the late 1800's.He was b in Tn in 1880's.I don't know exactly how to go about doing a search from that far back but I'm hoping that this post will spark enterest in someone out there who may be able to help.
I don't know who his birthparents were or if his name at birth was/wasn't Charles or Charlie.He married my gr-grandmother Hattie(Owens)Cook and had 6 children:Eugene,Homer Francis/"Frank",William,Lucy,my grandmother Mayzelle,and Bonnie.

EUGENE- was shot and killed by angry wife in 1970's in Macon Co,Tn.Had daughter named Barbara from previous marriage.Killer wife came around family later trying to lay claim to his social security money stating that he had fathered her children.
HOMER FRANCIS/"FRANK"- had something to do with the railroads in either KY,WV,TN,or IL
WILLIAM-died young and is buried with his father CHARLES(the gr-grandfather I seek imfo on) and mother HATTIE in Maple Hill Cemetary in Valier,Illinois.
LUCY- first married a Pierson,2nd an Overturf whom she outlived and is widowed still living in nursing home in Benton,IL
MAYZELLE- my grandmother.She was b in Red Boiling Springs,Tn Jan 17 1916 and d Sept 28 1945 Valier,IL-she was married in 1933 to my late grandfather Alva B.Wallace and had 5 children with him before her death with the 6th one.She was only 29 years old-cause of death was listed as uremic convulsion related to kidney failure.
BONNIE- b WV 1927 d Mar 2002 from pancreatic cancer.
