Classification: Query
Surnames: BAKER, COREY
If any of the following names are familiar to anyone here, I would be most appreciative if you could email me to correspond further.

Henry J. Baker (born in CT around 1867) was married to Kate (Katey), maiden name Corey (born in Ireland around 1871.)

They had several children, probably five in all, though one, and possibly two of the children were taken to the New York Foundling Hospital and adopted from there. One of these two children was a son named Augustine Baker, born in May of 1902.

The other children remained living with Henry and Kate, and though all of the following were born in CT, they lived in New York (Queens) in 1920.

They are:

Florence Baker (born around 1895)
Grace Baker (born around 1899)
Katharyn Baker (born around 1907)

Katey (Corey) Baker's mother lived with the family in 1920, and her name was Johanna Corey. She was a widow in 1920.

Also living in the household was another of Johanna Corey's children, Thomas Corey, who was 42 in 1920.

If these facts ring any bells for anyone on this list, or if anyone has further guidance for me in tracing these ancestors, I would be most grateful to hear from you.

I am the "granddaughter-in-law" of Augustine Baker, who was a member of the above family. The family was very poor when Augustine was born, and the boys (as we understand it) were taken to the New York Foundling Hospital and adopted. We would like to contact anyone who descends from his family, as we do.

Thank you very much.

Julia
