Perhaps if they were paying for the information that they receive for free on here they might
have the basic civility of at least acknowledging, ( although a few people do so via a private message ), much less thanking, the repondents for the, often very detailed and obscure information, that they provide for free, much of which, I suspect, would be the same as the information that a professional researcher would supply for a fee.
They might also have the common sense to include in their initial enquiry any information that
they already possess about the topic of their enquiry, and they might also have the common sense, if they post more than one message about the same topic, on one or more than message boards, to refer to the other messages in each of their separate but related message threads, and they might also have the consideration to update each thread with new information received in their other threads, and to delete or add a note to each thread when their enquiry has been fully resolved.
The enquirer might not be so quick to cause other people to have to waste their time and effort in reinventing the wheel if the enquirer had to pay for that time and effort.
A professional researcher hired via ancestry for example won't even start for less than $1900,
although their initial estmate is free. :):)
