Mom married a Canadian Soldier and came to Canada in 1945? 1946? - unable to find her on any ship lists.
Can anyone help me find this information

Mom was Phyllis Elaine Goldberg (nee Lewery) travelling with my sister (approx 2 yrs old) Jacqueline Goldberg. My father was with the 48th highlanders out of Toronto - Aaron Goldberg. I heard that they travelled with soldiers returning home (1945? 1946?)
Mom, dad and my sister have all passed away.
Any help you could give would be appreciated

I am not sure of this but I think war brtides were the responsibility of the governments concerned and sometimes travelled on troop ships or on specially requisitioned ships, so they would not appear on ordinary shipping company passenger lists. I would suggest that as you know his regiment you might do worse than start with them and ask what arrangements were made for these wives. The marriages would have had to be registered on the military records for family allowances, accomodation etc. Good luck.

Thank you ---- I will try going through the military records.

I think the Pier 21 Museum in Halifax has some records, many war brides arrived in Canada that way.
