Hello,
I'm researching a book on British women who married American GIs during WW2, and relocated to America with them after the war. I write narrative non-fiction books for HarperCollins based on interviews with women who share a particular experience - my last book, The Sugar Girls, was about female workers at Tate & Lyle's sugar factories in London's East End during the 1940s and 1950s, and became a Sunday Times bestseller in the UK.
There is more information about my current research at
www.thesugargirls.com/newbook.
If you know of any surviving British WW2 war brides, I would love to hear their stories and memories. I am based in London, England, but will be in the United States for several months this Autumn. You can contact me on
warbridesbook@hotmail.com.
Many thanks,
Duncan Barrett
