Mary D (Judy) Heynes service as a British radar operator during WW2?

My mother was a British citizen and I was told she served in the British Armed Forces as a radar operator during WW2. My family and I are very interested in receiving any information concerning her service activities. Regretably, she passed away in 1974 and never spoke of her wartime experiences. Luckily for me, she met my father (a US serviceman) during this period and ultimately married and moved to the US where she and her parents lived in Texas until their deaths. I have no contact with any remaining relatives in Great Britain.

My mother's full name was Mary Druscilla Heynes and she was born in Kidderminster in 1922.
I would appreciate any information concerning my mother with regards to her military service.

Respectfully,

You could try this link, Jon https://www.gov.uk/requests-for-personal-data-and-service-re...

Scroll down and make sure you really read everything. It is over 25 years since your mother passed on, so if you have a copy of her death certificate you should be able to get the whole record (as long as the MoD do not decide some of the information is compromising to current military practice). If you are now the next of kin, it might be free, but otherwise it will cost £30 non-refundable.

I am not sure whether this system works for international applicants or just British citizens, so I apologise if this is not going to work for you. I hope you haven't given up on researching with the wait there has been between your post and this reply!
