Surnames: Nix, Bills, Rice, Sommerfield
She was almost definitely decoding, and likely using the first ever ENIGMA CIPHER MACHINE, first used by the US for "cryptographers" to decode messages.
By any chance was she stationed in Puerto Rico? One of the main & most secretive units on the fore-front of G2 in the Army was there, near San Juan & Buyamon.
Her name was Thelma Mae Bills, and she later married a John Patrick Rice. Before she could return home to Oklahoma after the war, she recieved a lobotamy, from the Army, for unknown reasons, other than pneumonia.
