Cora Louise Bricker, age 88, of Shelby, Ohio died Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Shelby Pointe.

She was born January 9, 1922 in Tremont, Maine the daughter of the late George and Mildred (Bragg) Miller.

While serving in the United States Army during World War II, Cora met her future husband, Harold R. Bricker, who was stationed in Maine with the United States Navy.

They were married on July 28, 1945 and Harold preceded her in death on June 15, 2009.

After the war, Cora worked at Douglas Aircraft Co. in California prior to moving to Shelby, Ohio in 1970.

In Shelby, Cora was a self-employed beautician and had also worked at the Crestwood Care Center. She was a member of the First Christian Church, American Legion O'Brian Post 326, and VFW Post 291 all in Shelby. She enjoyed fishing, golfing, and bowling.

Surviving are her children, Jackie (Dennis) Christopherson, Harold R. Bricker Jr., and Robert A. (Penny) Bricker, all of Shelby, seven grandchildren, Teresa Moorehouse, Dennis Christopherson, Kris Christopherson, Amy Bricker, Tracy Pyers, Julie Adams, and Jason Bricker; 17 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, preceding her in death were a son, John E. Bricker; a granddaughter, Roberta Christopherson; and sisters, Betty and Evelyn.

Friends may call on Sunday, September 12, 2010, from 6-8 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 W. Main St. Shelby where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Brad McBee officiating.

Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Richland County, Ohio Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
