TAMPA, FLA. - Ora Elene “Arlene” Eastlick, 91, passed away Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, at Florida Hospital in Tampa, after a long and fulfilling life.
Ora, who was also known as “Arlene” to many, was born July 31, 1923, in Youngstown, Ohio a daughter of the late Christian R. and Ida May Miller.
She was a 1943 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, and served in the Women’s Army Corp (WAC) during World War II, stationed at McCoy Air Force Base in Orlando, Florida.
Ora worked as a waitress for many years in the Youngstown-Warren area.
She worked at Cicero’s, The Colonial House, The Mansion, and the Twentieth Century in Youngstown, and in Warren, she worked at restaurants on “the strip,” The Living Room, Cafe 422, and Alberini’s.
Ora was an avid bowler for many years, and enjoyed bingo and crocheting.
Arlene is survived by her daughter, Betsy (Jerry) Tatarka of Sheffield Lake, Ohio; two sons, Roy (Rita) Banks of Youngstown and Bill Banks of Gibsonton, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; an elder brother, Scott (Bud) Miller; a stepdaughter, Patricia Kocka of Niles; a sister-in-law, Betty Lou Miller of Youngstown; and a son-in-law, Bruce Barton of Warren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Ernest Eastlick; two brothers, Christian “Snooky” Miller and Merle Miller; a sister, Jean Miller Gibboney; a stepdaughter, Margaret “Peggy” Barton; and a granddaughter, Carrie Tatarka.
