ELKHART -- Esther Meek Hubler, 95, of 1900 Jeanwood Drive, Elkhart, Indiana, died at 8:55 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 9, 2005) at her residence.

She was born Oct. 30, 1909, in Youngstown, Ohio, to James Morgan Meek and Eva D. (Gaither) Meek.
She married John W. Hubler on Feb. 14, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio. He died March 4, 2000.

She served in the U.S. Army as a first lieutenant and was stationed in England, France, Belgium as well as Germany during World War II.


Mrs. Hubler was a registered nurse for 18 years and worked as an institutional nurse in Clifton Springs, N.Y., and New York City. During her marriage she was a homemaker.

She was a member at Central Christian Church in Youngstown, Ohio and, later, Central Christian Church in Elkhart.

She is survived by one son, David J. (Chris) Hubler of Elkhart; one granddaughter and one great-grandson.

Friends may call one hour prior to the 1 p.m. service Tuesday at Thompson Funeral Home in Youngstown, OH.
Burial will be at Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown, Ohio. (Mahoning County)

Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home, 403 W. Franklin St., Elkhart, is handling the local arrangements.
