My grandfather was in the 709th Ordinance, 9th Infantry Division. I have several HUNDRED of his photos from the war, many of which have names on the back of those pictured.

If any of these surnames match people you are looking for let me know and I will send you the picture/s once I scan them into my computer:

Rosskopf, Cookson, Fierro, Gerson, Sinaj, Kutzey, Harris, Greskowitz, Turkiewicz, Power, Clinton, McClintock, Hill, Schneider, Burchinal, Williams, Ross, Misko, Bickel, Bice, H??den, Workman, Moore, Egde, Kerecz, Smith, Dodd, Simmons, Grote, Fulp, Van Busichem, Eroh, Hunt, Pellish, Burnett, Lafferty, Fulmer, Mann, Jakubiak, Jones, Gulentz, Diamore, Bish, Urban, Schoen, Estabrooks, Burnett, Lesko, Poches, Webb, Runkle, Griffiths, Medlin, Pribish, Ercolani, Goucher, Deffenbaugh, Geotzinger, Andracky, Matthes, Holuk, Steed, McLaughlin, Haswell, Moesinger, Oxford, Hunsche, Maccini, Whelton, Waibart/Waibort, Muriel Reade-Hill, Joan Elledge, Micklavcic/Micklaucic, Kerecz, Poirier, Sherwin, Cepelnik, Grover, Goerman, Schoen, Cepelnik, Grover, Burnett, Lesko, Poches, Webb, Runkle, Griffiths, Medlin, Pribish, Bailey, Riturkewicz/Raturkewicz, Powers, Clinton, McClintock, Hill, Schneider, Burchinal, Williams, Ross, Dodd, Simmons, Grote, Fulp, Hunt, Anderkin, Lafferty, Fulmer, Mann, Jakubiak, Jones, Gulentz, Bish, Urban, Workman, Moore, Edge, Bruno

If your relative or person you are searching for was also in to 709th ord, 9th infantry i probably have a photo of them. Many of these people may not have been in this same ordinance -- im sure it was common to come in contact with many different ordinances/battalions/divisions.

I am looking for any information I can find on James McLaughlin. I am fairly certain he was in the military in WWII. All I can go on is what is on his headstone since I never able meet him. His headstone reads James W McLaughlin SGT ARMY AIR FORCES. Other than birth and death dates I have nothing to go on and am running into dead ends.

Did you ever find out much about your relative? It's hard, it really is. But I have learned some researching tricks and maybe I can help you find out something about him. I found stuff about my own dad that he could never tell us about but he is still alive and he has remembered some of the guys he served with, and that has been so worth it. So let me see if I can come up with anything for your own treasured soldier. Just let me know, I have lots of time on my hands these days.

I have not been able to find any information yet. I don't have any family member whom I could ask, and it seems that the internet hasn't lead to any clues for me to follow. Really hoping to find more information about this part of my family.

Surnames: Turkiewicz
Turkiewicz is an uncommon name so just maybe. My grandfather was Mark Turkiewicz stationed in Grottagli, Italy. He was with the 719th Bomber Squadron. I see the 9th ID was in Sicily so perhaps they crossed paths? Would be interesting to find out.
