I am searching for crew memebers with my father on the Liberty Ship William Asa Carter in 1945. He is 85 yrs old and want to contact other Merchant Marines that were on that ship.

My father did not serve with him but he did take a photograph of the ship. My father passed away in 2005. He served in the Army Air Force from August of 1945 to early 1947. He shipped out of San Francisco first to the Phillipines and later to Okinawa and back. Email me at timoboozer@comcast.net and I will email you the photo.
I hope it helps.
Tim

I believe my father, Roy T. Sturdivant, was Chief Mate of the William Asa Carter. He is 92 and resides in Bluffton S.C. I may be reached at 813-245-8755. Or, sturdivantco@yahoo.com

I believe my father, Roy T. Sturdivant, was Chief Mate of the William Asa Carter. I am certain he would be thrilled to see a picture of her. He is 92 and became a Captain aboard the Hunter Victory in 1948. He continued his career in the Merchant Marines until 1987 as Captain of state-of-the-art roll on/roll off containerships. It would be greatly appreciated if you would forward that picture to me at sturdivantco@yahoo.com. Thanking you in advance, cordially,
George Sturdivant.
