My Grandfather was KIA July 27, 1944 in France. He was in the 2d Armored Division, 82nd Reconnaissance Battalion. When I started researching a little over a year ago we knew very little about him. We didn't even know his division, birthday, or where he was buried. I have since found his best friend and 2 other men who served with him! I have been very very fortunate. Until I started researching I did not truly appreciate what him and all of the other men had done during the war. I have written a story about him for my family, but I would love to find some way to make sure that my generation and the next does not forget what they did for us.

I hope your mother's cousin is registered at the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor. It is a National listing honoring all those who have received a Purple Heart. Go to www.thepurpleheart for more information and on how to register your mother's cousin. The men who fought for our country should not be forgotten.

Dear Latay-
I would love to know more about your Grandfather. Anything you can provide to us. A group of us have been studying the US 2nd Armored, 82nd Reconnaissance Btln. for nearly 30 years.

I can explain more.
Would love to start a dialogue.
