I have a french trench coat made by Paul Boye Company, and stamped on the inside of the collar is Paul Boye Bedarieux, 16 Mitin. Buttons are Bachler Chateaudun, 25M. I am interested in if this is a WWII french trench coat and who this Paul Boye is?

Okay. But you say, "information we have says..." What "information" are you referring to and how do you know his USAAF number?

Do you know EXACTLY which name he was enlisted into the military under?

Do you know where he enlisted from or where he was born?

I have a paid membership at another site and there are more NARA records on military personnel than here. I'd really like to try to help if I can. If not, I wish you luck.

Traci

Oddly, item 12 of the report says, "If personnel are believed to have survived, answer yes to one of the following statements:"

The answer marked is:

(c) Any other reason (Specify): Yes - See Reverse Side.

Also strange, is that the "reverse" side of the report does not appear to be part of the 5 pages of images...So I don't know what the "reverse" side said. Many of the pages are stamped "CONFIDENTIAL".

Also, the letter refers the 309th Fighter Squadron, 31st Fighter Group, APO #525, US Army.

Military Medical Records from World War II until 1982 - Can anyone help with red tape?

I am so frustrated I don't know what to do!!

My father died in 1981 and I have since learned a great deal about him. He served during World War II in Italy and was injured. He spent 3 months at the 105th Station Hospital in Italy with a "head injury", "paralysis, general" and "Concussion".

In reviewing "new" military records sent to me recently, I was told by the NPRC that there are MORE of my father's records at a Veteran's Administration Storage Facility in Laguna Niguel, California. I was told they have been there since 1982, shortly after my father's death.

I have attempted to get these records for almost ONE year and have been unsuccessful. I am being told the "records are unavailable". I have contacted my local VA, the California VA, the Department of Veterans Affairs, my local Congressman, the Governor of California and even the President of the United States and have received the same answer - well, except from the Governor and the President - they have not responded.

Does anyone know of any other way to try to get these records??? I am desperate!! There is so much more to this story than I can explain here, but I NEED these records!! If anyone has any suggestions, please respond!! Thank you very much!!

He run away from Poland during the II World War and ended up in Scotland - fighting for the Polish Free Army. He came back to Poland, was married with four children and settled in a little village Janowice Wielkie. My family lost all the documents and all the informations regarding him. I know he had some friends in the UK. I will be greatful for any information that can help me learn more about him.

Pfc Omar H. Rufkahr, 37187603; entered the service on June 8, 1942; was a Cpl when KIA Mar 24, 1945 - buried in the Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands.
I only know that he was in H Co. - a heavy weapons company, so he operated a machine gun or mortar. Do you have any photos or stories? My grandfather, Wm. Herrin, was in the same Co.. He just died this past March. I am collecting info on this Co. to try and tell some of its story for family or anyone interested.
Thanks!
Barr descendants?

I am seeking any descendants of the Barr family, my grandfather was James Barr from Greenock Scotland.
My father was also named James, born 1896 at Port Glasgow
Scotland.
Sadly he died when I was only 10 years old and I was therefore unable to find out very much about the family.
I know only that his mother was Christina McCulloch, and my father illegitimate. he adopted the surname of Barr after his mother died.

I know that two brothers went to the USA, I believe one was named Cameron Barr, I would love to make contact with any descendants.
If anyone knows about them or they see my query, I would love to hear from them or their descendants
I know there was correspondence with the USA until after WW2
my father died in 1941 and eventually the correspondence ceased.
A relative visited us shortly after WW2 his name was Hank, he was a young soldier, that is all I know about him, I did not know then who he was related to my father or mother, but I now believe it could have been my father
My father married Laura Maud Gagan in 1918

If anyone knows any of the Barr family descendants I would appreciate a response, can anyone help please?

I will show these pics to my dad to see if it rings a bell.
I appreciate all your help. I was hoping the British kept records and I could locate where to get them. Upon my dads release he had to have formal paperwork filled out by an employer and his brother where he would live. This had to be turned in to the camp and authorized. I highly doubt it was a POW camp he was in all though he feels it was because his regimen were all children used in the war. Being captured saved his life !! and he is grateful.

Well I searched some more and found this website. It's in Latvian though. The site is called DP albums, which I think means Displaced persons albums which is filled with pictures of camps and people. I used a translator but it was still kinda of hard to understand, maybe you will have more luck then me. The website is http://www.dpalbums.lv/index2.html and just put Flensburg into the search bar and picture will come up of the camp like this one: http://www.dpalbums.lv/lat/download.php?id=1319&edit=&am.... So take a look through those pictures, I'll check by later.

I looked around and couldn't find to much information about this camp. So what you saying is that your father was in a POW camp in Flensburg,Germany? I did find this article and it turns out there was a displaced persons camp in Flensburg Germany. From the stories I've read it seems like the poeple of Flensburg were rounded up by the British and put into these camps. But like I said, there isn't to much information. The article only give the name of the camp "Flensburg UNRRA displaced persons camp, Flensburg, a camp for Latvian displaced persons" I hope this is the camp your looking for and hopefully can you that name to find out more information. Good luck.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scouting_in_displaced_persons_c...
Go to Virginia Vital Records on the computer. All the contact information will be there. There is a charge for a copy of the birth certificate but to get the information you need to at least start researching, it is worth it.

Also, see if you have a genealogy society near you. They can really give you a lot of help to start looking. Check your local phone book for a Mormon church Family History Center or once again, look on line for Church of Latter Day Saints in Utah. Their web site will give you a list of their family history centers in each state. They are one of the most complete research centers for genealogy. Good luck with your research.
