I know so very little about him, so this is really a shot in the dark. I think he was staioned in Maine, possibly Presque Isle Army Airforce Base somwhere around 1942-1952. I am so unsure of these dates. He was an illegal immigrant, came from Holland through Canada and somehow made it to NYC where he married my grandmother on March 2, 1933 at Our Lady of Lords Church in NYC. He was an immigrant and so his name was cut short and would resemble something similar to Booth, Boothe, Bothe, Buethe, somewhere along those lines. His first name was Geret, but again, this could have been changed when he was drafted into the military. He fathered two boys while married to my grandmother, one of which is my father who is still alive and my uncle Donald, who died as an infant. Rumor has it he went on after service to Washington (DC or State-its unknown) and re-married and had more children. I am desperately seeking some information, any information, possibly through vets who were staioned at the same base. Anything really as I have very little to go on. Thank you for reading this and I hope to find information on my grandfather for my family. He is a missing piece in our puzzle that we need to complete.

My uncle was also in the Army Airforce in WWII and was a P-38 pilot who trained in Arizona and California, last training base was Santa Maria, California. If you do a search on the web there are still many active groups for Army Airforce and if he was a pilot or associated with any type of aircraft there are several organizations exclusively for those aircraft and vets. If you aren't sure, contact one of them as a starting point. I did to get information about the P-38 and found everyone very helpful and willing to share and give other names of who might help.
