Braceros During WWII

Both my grand-father's and one great grandfather were Bracero workers during WWII and WWI. One worked in the Walnut Factory in Calfornia. It is my understanding that they all came thru Texas via this program. I note that they got paid 50 cents a day, that of which half got take and "saved" by the govn. Does anyone have any more information with respect to this program.
