In my family there is this story that a father in Denmark recieved survivor benefits when his son died in 1918, in the US army. Is this a record or index that is available for searching? Can someone shed light on this search, I have not been able to find any clues. Andrew Peter Jorgensen enlisted in Montana in 1918, died before he left for France October 18, 1918, the only mention of death location is body coming from Virginia.
