This is where things get a little complicated. The child was called Leslie Arthur and his birth was originally registered on 13 July 1918 and the certificate had the mother's (Lillian Mann nee hubbard) husband (Albert Edward Mann) listed as the father (Albert's profession was Corporal 2nd Life Guard but he is not the father). By authority of the registrar general the birth was re-registered on the 29th May 1922 as the first registration was a false entry. On this certificate Arthur's profession is listed as a builders costs clerk.

Arthur married Ellen Eugine Simms in 1921 and on the marriage certificate his profession is again listed as builders costs clerks.

I'm now waiting for a copy of Arthur's birth certificate to see if he had a middle name but i don't think he did.
