i just want to thank everyone for their advise/help on mary blake. i am looking for her parents. since she was close with my gmother,]alice delilah ford who always used the workman name from about 5 yrs old,she thought she was a 'workman', but he was a step-daddy.] 14 yr difference, i think alice babysat/took care of her, so mary was probably a relative of someone where alice stayed. alice's mother,dulcena,b.1848 ky, farmed her out to help others with house/children. alice became a midwife, lots of medicinal knowledge. the only thing i know to do is follow dulcena roberts...blankenship...workman from 1880 thru family and neighbors, looking for a mary, b. 1880,ky.
i can't find alice from 1880[14yrs,staying with dulcens's sister louisa ford/children]to 1902 when alice married my grandfather wm francis butler. i will keep looking. i am fairly new at this starting in march of this year, 2011, so if you have any advise/suggestions, i will diligently follow thru. again, thank you.
