I have a photograph of about 195 men of the 57th Pioneer Infantry, believed taken in France in June of 1918. If any one has information on this unit and it's history it would be appreciated. I am also posted on the Hickey surname message board looking for information on my grandfather(also Edward J Hickey) born in St Johns Newfoundland around 1887. Reply via message board or e-mail. Thanks.

I don't have a roster of the men that are shown in the picture that I have of the 57th Pioneer Infantry, France 1918. However if you determine that your Eddie Mack was in the unit, then I'll make every effort to get to you a copy of what I have. Please let me me know if you have a picture of Eddie Mack, from that time frame, to compare to the 195 men shown in my photo of the unit.

I am also looking for an uncle who was stationed in France about the time period your grandfather was. His name is Corporal Luther T Williams, he died at sea in Oct 1918 and is listed on the Tablets of the Missing at the Suresnes American Cemetary in France. I am waiting on papers from MO to see what unit he was in. Thanks

Please let me know if you develop information that points to the 57th Pioneer infantry as your relatives unit.

To Edward Hicky: I am interested to know if you have a list of the men who served with your grandfather in the 57th pioneer infantry.I did an interview with my grandfather many years ago before his death and he told me that his brother Spencer Lambert was in the 57th pioneer infantry. Do you have this name in any of your records? I have come to a dead end on my family roots..very hard to locate any info on them. thanks Dianne email jdmac123@aol.com

I don't have a list of the men in the picture. I'm in the process of getting a copy or two made from the original ( it's about four feet long bu eight inches high). When I have that done, I'll send you an e-mail. Thanks for responding.

Hi,
I know that it is a long shot that you will read this message since this post was written quite awhile ago; but I had to try.
My father was in the 57th Pioneer Infantry in france during WW 1. As a child I remember a photo of his unit hanging in our house; but it was destroyed during a fire. I have been searching for years to find a copy of this photo. If this is the photo, I would be most grateful to be allowed to get a copy of it. I would pay all costs of course and pay you for your time. This means the world to me and my brother and sister.
Sincerely, Kathy Mullis
