I believe that my Samuel Havens served in the War of 1812. I have found 4 Samuel's that served but would like to narrow it down so that I can order his records. Can anyone tell me if any of these militia were enlisted in the Ogdensburg, St. Lawrence Co., NY area?

Swifts & Dobbins Reg
1st Regiment (Davis) Militia
1st Regiment (Dodge's) Militia
134 Reg. (Stone's) Militia

Thank you!

I too am looking for a Samuel Havens my ggg grandfather who served in the War of 1812 on the side of the British. He took part in the famous march in the dead of winter on snowshoe from New Brunswick to Quebec for reenforcements. He married a Susan Kinney. I have not been able to find his roots although family stories indicated he came from New York. If you have any information to pass on from your searching it wpuld be appreciated.
