Surnames:
On the U.S. Army Register of Enlistment, my Solomon NETTLES is listed as "I.R. Oct 31, 1814. Died Sept 6, 1814 Buffalo"
Others have in the same column, "R.R." rather than "I.R."
So what would the I.R. vs R.R. stand for?
