Do you have a listing for a Clement Gosselin from Canada who served in the American Army and as such all his lands etc. in Canada were taken over by the British. Somewhere I read he was a founding member of the Fraternal Order of Cincinnatti, but I don't believe he served in the war very long, having broken his leg. Thanks for any info.

I ran across this post today I see I may have not give you a answer for that I'm sorry but like they say better late then never.

Major Clement Gosselin of the Revolutionry army half-pay of a Major of infantry as promised by Congress by resolve of Congress of Oct. 21, 1780,on deducting out five years full pay as a Captain allowed him by the resolve of Congress of March 23, 1783, and allowing that he lived to March 28, 1818 at which time he died.

Note: This info comes from a Bill from congres of 1860,his heir's were asking for relief.

Register of all Officers of all 42 Regiments of 1813 - NAPLIN / NAPLER

Surnames: NAPLIN, NAPLER, CLARKE, INWARD, BENJAMIN
I have an entry on the 1841 British census for
CHARLOTTE NAPLIN age 66 born America ARMY OFFICER"S WIDOW.(she would have been born c1775)

She was visiting John Clarke and his wife Maria Inward at that time. John's son John married a Rachel Benjamin born in Canada and I am trying to find if there is any connection between Clarke/Naplin/Benjamin families.

I presume Charlotte would have married c 1795 or so.

I have been trying with out any success to locate NAPLIN's NAPLER's etc. I would like to know her maiden name and need to trace a marriage record for her.

Can you assist with any officer who may have been this ladies spouse?

Thankyou for you time looking for this name.

I have also posted in teh genereal area but I think that I may have to strat looking into BrithishArmy Officers as well. I only assumed that as Charlotte wa American she would be marrieed to an American Military Officer but of couorse that might nbot necesarily be true, SHe could have married a Cnandian or British officer as well.

I guess the field is still wide open

thanks again

hi, i'm not sure if you'll find my ancestor or not as i'm not entirely sure he was an officer, i'm just guessing here given the history we have on him. but his name is charles thomas cazaiette/caziette stevens, probably listed as just charles stevens or charles t. stevens though. he's listed in the massachusetts soldiers and sailors of the revolutionary war book but he settled in new hampshire with his family so he could be listed as from either of those states or maybe somewhere else in new england. if you need any further info, let me know. thanks very much for the lookup offer! nikki

Kikki I looked at all the 44 regiments, there was 44 regiments and not 42., and the Rangers and Volunteers and found nothing.
There is a error in my title of this post I should stated all these regiments is for the United States Army only and not for any Militia or Volunteer regiments. If you could give his info from the Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors of the Rev. I still may be able to help in some way. If you don’t want to post it here you can E. Mail me at the Address below.
However I’m just one person by posting it here thousand’s will see it and may be one of them will be able to help out.
