Would love to have a copy of his compiled service record from NARA. I just got back from The National Archives and all they had was his Muster and Pay records. Will send you a copy if you want it.

No, that's not all they have at NARA. If you requested a service record for him, that is all you will get. NARA records are vast, and you need to know what they have and what to request, because the staff does not have the time to inform you about what all is available. Some 1812 soldiers and widows were pensioned (not very many), but nearly all of them were eligible for bounty land, if not immediately after the war, then certainly by the acts of 1850 and/or 1855. Most would have bounty land application files, even if they were not pensioned. Those applications would show where the soldier/widow was living as of 1850/1855, and it may or may not state where the soldier was drafted or enlisted from. In the case of the widow applying, it would give her marriage date and place, and her maiden name.
