Re: USS Glenard P Lipscomb SSN-685
Looking for former ETC(SS) Crichlow who, I swear, once passed the word on the 1MC: "Secure from field day. Commence clean-up ship for entering port."
I wish I could have recorded the responses that echoed throughout the boat.....
That 1MC announcement was definitely good for morale.

Re: USS Glenard P Lipscomb SSN-685
I too was assigned to the Lipscomb fm 79-81 (I left her when she was in the yards in Norfolk in '81). She was never the same when she left the yards. Decommed way before her time in '89. It was the best crew I was ever part of! Hope things are going well for you.

Re: USS Glenard P Lipscomb SSN-685
Dave,
Hey man it is me, Jeff Griffin (Griff) Yeoman from 80 to 84, worked for you in the mess hall before I went to Ships office. Left New London and went to wonderful Portsmouth, VA.
I left the boat in August 84 and got out of the Navy - dumbest thing I ever did.
Would like to hear from anyone.

Re: USS Glenard P Lipscomb SSN-685
David, I was an MM aboard the Lipscomb from 80 - 83. I believe I mess-cranked for you in 80? Glad to see you retired a Senior Chief, I as well. ISCS(SS). As you can see I changed rates.

Re: USS Glenard P Lipscomb SSN-685
Griff, I think we Messcranked together in 1980. I was an A-ganger on the Lipscomb and left the Navy in December 83. Went back in the reserves in 1990 and ended up retiring an ISCS after a tour in Iraq.
