Does anyone know where one might find records regarding the rejection of an attempted enlistment in the U.S. Navy? My great-grandfather tried to enlist in 1932 in Billings, Montana, and they rejected his enlistment: "The information obtained is a cause for rejection, however, in this cause we are required to complete all papers and forward them to District Headquarters for final decision by the Officer in Charge."
Any advice on where to start?
