My GGGG grandfather, Samuel and wife Sarah Goodson were living at Clear Fork, Raleigh Co., WV in the 1860 Census. By the 1870 Census, their children are farmed out to relatives in Floyd Co., VA. I find no trace of these 2, after the 1860 Census. I know that their were many skirmishes along the Coal River, and in those parts in general. Does anyone know of anything that mentions this family? Is there a book that lists political prisoners, being from Va. would have been against them, so it might be possible they were sent to a camp? Or, maybe they were killed by bushwhackers? Anyone's help in this would be appreciated!
