I'm interested in another Mobberley connection with the 116th Ohio. I have a handwritten letter from Catherine A. Mobberly, written on November 7, 1864, in which she says that her husband, James B. Mobberly, has been missing since his unit was engaged at Staunton, Virginia. From a quick look at the census, I think James might have been the son of Frederick and Lydia of Clay -- is that a county or a township? This is not my family, but I'm very interested in any information you might have on Catherine A. Mobberly, James' wife. Many thanks -- Catherine Deichmann

Catherine,
I would be very interested in having a copy of this letter. I am fairly certain that James B. Mobberly is William H. Mobberly's brother. They both served in the 116th Ohio, Company C. William wrote in his diary that James was "severely wounded July 5, 1864." I knew William was married, but didn't know if James was married. He was listed in a book (116th Ohio) as having died on July 12, 1864 and is buried in Staunton, Virginia. Please contact me. James B. and William H. were brothers of my great-great-great-grandfather and would love to have a copy. Please write to me directly at brenehuns@comcast.net. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
Brenda H.

Herb,
Do you still have your offer out there to share a copy of the regimental on the 116th Ohio? It has been almost a year since you wrote, and I didn't realize this until now.

Thank you.

Regards,
Brenda

Herb,
Can we communicate through email? Please let me know if this is a large volume. Not sure what this entails. Please let me know if there is a cost of copying and shipping. Thanks much. brenehuns@comcast.net
is my email address.
