there are far more then two Charles in the family line and other branches too ;) technically his father was Charles too. The family is all in Liberty- not Freedom.

The family bible states he died in 1863 Nov 14 in New Orleans.

I did look at the Charles I listing because Ancestry seems to show the same info for Charles E from Liberty. I went on footnote and looked at the physical pages and it shows he resigned due to health issues in Beaufort SC. But those seem clear to be Charles I...although the last one shows Feb of 1863 as a date so he could have headed to New Orleans since his brother was there.

I would love to see any info you have on William...he died in New Orleans from his wounds received at Port Hudson, LA.- 28 June 1863. infor given to me is he has a marker at Chalmette Natl Cem and record shows buried in Hunt Cem in Liberty, Waldo, ME.

I am hoping someone will do a lookup at that cem to see if Charles is there and any info on his grave...
