I am looking for information concerning my Great, Great Grandfather, F.W. Mitchell. He is listed as serving in Co.D, 2nd Georgia Cavalry, but the U.S. Amnesty he signed (hanging on my wall) says he served in Co.A, 2nd Georgia Cavalry. I was told (by older relatives long ago) that he was taken prisoner, but I cannot confirm this.

Any information you can provide would be very helpful.
