My Great Grandfather William Quigley served with the 13th U.S. Infantry, Company E as a Private, in Hot Springs, Garland, Arkansas as noted in the 1880 census. He most likely joined in Pilot Knob, Iron, Missouri. Head of household on the census was Ed. Bradfield who was a 1st Sergt. I was wondering what William was doing in Hot Springs. The Civil War was over. I cannot find any information about the military during this time. Could someone direct me to finding out more about my G/Grandfather's military service? I would so appreciate the help.
Thank you,
Eellitta
