Can someone help me locate my GGGRandfathers service record. He was Edward Barnes, born 12 Feb.1812 N.C.
On his tombstone was the words, " Killed By Pin Indians ".
His death date was 18 June 1863.
He was living in White Oak, Franklin Co., Arkansas during the Civil War. I don't know if he fought for the north or the south. He is buried in Franklin County, Arkansa in a cemetary on what was his farm then.
I am trying to get my family veterans information together so they can be included on the Veterans Memorial to be built in Altus, Arkansas soon.
Thank you for your help,
Cloyd Nelson
