Hi Robert:
My great grandfather, Jeptha D. Armstrong and his brother, John M. were in this regiment. They were in the battle at Prarie Grove, I believe in the orchard behind the two story house, that was burned after the battle and rebuilt. They were both captured at the Battle of Helena on July 4, 1863 and spent the remainder of the war in Alton, IL and Fort Deleware, DE. I have a story written by a fellow prisoner in Fort Deleware, written about the prison during the time my ancestors were there. If you would like a copy of it, I have it Word Perfect format but can send it to you in MS Word or .txt format. I have a picture of my great grandpa and his second wife made about 1882 and is a very good picture of him.
