Here are some on-line resources for you to check:
National Parks Service: Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System (URL
http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/) - Over 40 William Wolf's or William Wolff's.
Pennsylvania in the Civil War (URL
http://www.pa-roots.com/~pacw/), which is an on-line version of Bates' book "Pennsylvania in the Civil War"
Penn State's version of Bates' book "Pennsylvania in the Civil War" (URL
http://cairo.pop.psu.edu/cw/c.cfm)
Pennsylvania State Archives-Contains the Civil War Veterans cards that Bates created for writing the book, "Pennsylvania in the Civil War". The index cards usually contain more information than was published in Bates' book (URL
http://www.digitalarchives.state.pa.us/)
Finally, I searched through the cards and found one card that may be your ancestor. Age in 1863 is 33 years old, and the man enlisted from Hanover, PA. This may be the same person, but the middle initial is different. Which does not mean anything. Misspellings were extremely common in the records. You will still need to do additional research to confirm or deny the information. The information could be related to your ancestor or the information could be for an other individual. You still have much work ahead of you.
Hope this helps.
