In '04 I ordered my gggrandfather's (Pvt.John LEWIS of the 133rd NY Vol Infantry) pension records and received a ton of information, including records of his death in 1863 in an army regimental hospital, a record of his marriage to my gggrandmother, information on the birthdates and baptismal dates of their children, and much more that I would've never found elsewhere.
