Looking to see if anyone has come across Absalom Jackson Miles b. 1841 in Harris County, GA. Moved to Tallapoosa, AL with family in late 1840's, and then moved again by 1860 to Fayette County, AL. He is listed on the 1860 census with his family in Fayette. No other records are available that I can find.
Believe he could have died in the Civil War, but can't find any records of him. His brother (possibly twin - we think), John W. Miles was in the 11th Alabama Infantry from 1861-1863 and then was promoted to the 8th Calvary, Company B in 1863. Their younger brother, Robert P. Miles was in the 8th Calvary, also Company B, from 1863 to April 1865. He enlisted at the Fayette Courthouse. This info is all from John W. and Robert P. Miles pension records from Florida.
His brother-in-law was John H.N. Vines and was in the 34th Regimental Infantry, Company D and died July 1862 of disease. Another brother-in-law, Holland M. Bell, was in the 41st Alabama Regiment, Company H.
Any info on Absalom Jackson Miles would be very appreciated!!
Thanks!
