I cannot find info on my dad, who enlisted in the Coast Guard during WWII. I don't know what military branch it's listed under.

Found one uncle in Navy, one uncle in Army (Air Corps). But can't find Coast Guard.

Surnames: Brockway
Robert O Brockway, West Palm Beach, FL, enlisted in the Coast Guard because the Navy would not let him in (pierced eardrum). His two brothers also enlisted for WWII, one in Navy, one in Army Air Corps.

I have found my uncles enlistment papers, but cannot find my dad's. Please, someone, tell me where the Coast Guard paperwork is listed ... tried Navy, Army, but no luck.

Thank you.

As far as I know Coast Guard Service Records are at the NARA. Try were not affected by the 1973 fire and should be available. You have to request information as they have yet to have USCG enlistment online like other Military Services. Maybe someday.

Before 9/11 the US Coast Guard was under the "Department of Transportation", or the DOT.
Post 9/11 the USCG is now under the "Department of Homeland Security".
