Agnes Rose (Schmitz) Kishman, 91, of Vermilion, Ohio died Tuesday, May 8, 2012, in Firelands Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Agnes was born Nov. 1, 1920, in Amherst, Ohio and was a Vermilion Township resident since 1948.
She was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard serving during World War II.
She enjoyed Big Band music and dancing. She was an excellent tennis player and liked to cook and garden.
She is survived by her son David (Candy) Kishman, of Vermilion; daughters, Elizabeth Kishman, of Oak Harbor, Ohio and Margaret Kishman, of Williston, Ohio; granddaughters, Heather Kishman, of Bakersfield, Calif., Catherine (Mark) Reimer, of Palo Alto, Calif., and Jessica Kishman, of Vermilion; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald J. Kishman; son Donald V. Kishman; parents, Theodore and Elizabeth (Bischoff) Schmitz; sisters, Dorothy, Cecilia and Florence; and brothers, Arthur, Henry, Elmer, Walt and Al.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 11, until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange St., Vermilion, OH.
