I was hoping someone might help me identify the uniform the soldier is wearing in the attached picture. It is likely that the soldier served with a NJ regiment during the Civil War. I especially am interested if there is anything that might distinguish whether it is a Calvary or Infantry regiment. The picture appears to actually have been a sketch and so it is not as detailed as a photograph. Determining whether it is Calvary or Infantry will help me confirm who it is.
